Your notification preferences
Each notice email contains an unsubscribe link for that specific type of message. You can also visit /account/notifications to adjust which notices you receive and how often.
Some emails are always sent regardless of your settings: receipts, refunds, payment issues, listing holds and security alerts.
Updating your sign-in email
Open /account/email, enter the new address and your password. We email your current address and the new one: press the button in both emails. After both confirmations your sign-in email is changed, other browsers are signed out and we tell the old address. If you can no longer reach your current inbox, send a request from /help so we can check it is you.
Closing your account or deleting your data
At /account/privacy there is a 'Close your account' option. It lists what will happen first, and asks for your sign-in email and password to confirm. Closing unpublishes your listings, removes your personal data and signs you out everywhere. It cannot be undone, and paid listings are not refunded (your statutory rights are not affected).
Before you go, take your records with you: /account/privacy gives you one zip file with everything we hold, invoices included.
The law requires us to keep invoices for a set period, so those stay. /privacy sets out how we handle personal data.
Questions people ask

- What happens to my data when I close my account?
- Choose 'Close your account' at /account/privacy. After you confirm, your listings are unpublished and your personal data is removed. Invoices stay for as long as the law requires, and closing cannot be undone.
